Jane Brunner is a senior attorney in the offices of Siegel & Yee. She specializes in employment civil litigation, union representation, arbitration, mediation, and student rights and discipline. She represents numerous plaintiffs in wrongful termination and discrimination cases and she has represented many faculty and administrators at the University of California and private colleges in tenure review, negotiations and discipline hearings.

Ms. Brunner represents unions in negotiations, arbitrations and National Labor Relations Board hearings. She has handled dozens of employment arbitrations as well as court trials involving employee termination, discrimination and other issues. Currently she represents multiple unions including SEIU Local 87, San Francisco janitors, and Local 39000 of The News Guild-CWA, Court Interpreters. Previously she served as staff attorney with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 1245.

Ms. Brunner has successfully mediated complicated land use and development projects between developers and non-profit organizations, unions, and community members.

Ms. Brunner has represented small businesses in the area of employment law. She also has extensive experience in mediation and negotiations. She has over twenty years of experience in resolving and settling complex, multi-party issues in a variety of forums, ranging from private entities to city and statewide agencies.

Ms. Brunner is active in professional and civic organizations. She has provided sexual harassment training to members of the California State Assembly and their staff and to Pacific Gas & Electric Company employees. She has presented at The State Bar of California Labor and Employment Law Sections. She presently represents minors in pro bono immigration cases.

Ms. Brunner was a member of the Oakland City Council for over sixteen years. She chaired the Community and Economic Development Committee and the Affordable Housing Task force and was successful in acquiring millions of dollars in additional funding for housing. She also was Co-Chair of the Sustainable Community Development Task Force.

Ms. Brunner is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley (BA) and University of California Hastings College of the Law (JD). She is a former public school special education teacher and administrator.
